CARBON
DIOXIDE - CO2
We, like all animals, produce
CO2 all
night and all day, breathing it out as a body waste product.
CO2 is not a chemical pollutant -
it
nourishes, promotes, and is absolutely essential to all the life on
this
planet.
Over the hundreds of millions of
years
of the earth's history it has been reduced to a tiny trace element as
it
accumulated in limestone deposits from animal life.
It is ironic that while it is
an ineffectual
greenhouse gas in the Earth's atmosphere, it is a very effective gas in
real greenhouses - farmers add it to the air inside their greenhouses
to
dramatically boost their crop yields http://www.homeharvest.com/carbondioxideenrichment.htm ,

Most people don’t realise how
intrinsic
CO2 is to everything we do.
WE ALL START PRODUCING MORE
AND MORE
GREENHOUSE GASES WHEN WE GET UP IN THE MORNING.
WE…
Produce CO2 To boil the
kettle.
Produce CO2 to use the stove.
Produce CO2 from producing the
food. Farming
fuel.
Produce CO2 from getting food.
Transport
fuel from the farm.
Produce CO2 from making food.
Processing
the food in the factory.
Produce CO2 freezing and
refrigerating
food and meat.
Produce CO2 heating water for the
shower.
Produce CO2 making the clothes we
get
dressed in.
Produce CO2 driving the kids to
school.
Produce CO2 using energy at school.
Produce CO2 washing the dishes.
Produce CO2 cleaning the floor.
Produce CO2 washing the clothes.
Produce CO2 running the TV all day.
Produce CO2 getting to work either
by
car or public transport.
Produce CO2 working in the office
or factory
all day.
Produce CO2 using the telephone.
Produce CO2 traveling to the shops.
Produce CO2 using the shops.
Produce CO2 manufacturing the
shopping.
Produce CO2 disposing of rubbish
at work
and home.
Produce CO2 treating sewerage.
Produce CO2 for food for lunch.
[See breakfast
above]
Produce CO2 flying interstate.
Produce CO2 making cement.
Produce CO2 making iron and steel.
Produce CO2 making aluminum.
Produce CO2 running trains.
Produce CO2 running trucks.
Produce CO2 running ships.
Produce CO2 running cars.
Produce CO2 heating and cooling
indoor
air.
Produce CO2 for lighting at night.
Etc,
(which part of the above are
you going to do without to reduce your Carbon Dioxide production by the
required 66%!)
CO2 is produced in
everything we do, it
is impossible to reduce it without a very high cost.
We could produce our own
"alternative"
power but that is only a very small part of the CO2 that we produce
each
day. Most goes in the infrastructure of our the society that we live in.
For example more power is used
making
solar cells than they ever produce in their whole lives.
Also, the next biggest CO2
producer
after fuels is the chemical reaction used to produce cement, where CO2
is driven off limestone, and back into the air. Your house produced
many
many tons of CO2 in it's construction as did the roads and bridges you
travel on each day.
Our economy is very sensitive
to energy
costs – a big rise in crude oil prices usually causes a recession.
