WormLearn Disclaimer

Ok, now some dull but important stuff . . .

WormLearn is not a source of medical information. It is a source of information about parasites and the lives they lead. Naturally, parasitic lifestyles do impact upon human and animal health, and so I do make mention of symptoms and what these parasites do to the body. However, the Wormman's training is in diagnostic medical science (especially diagnostic parasitology) with a sideline into parasite structure and function which I did for my PhD. The CV may say "Doctor" but that doesn't mean I'm a clinician. In short, to save you the trouble of asking, the only medical advice the Wormman will give out is :

If you think you have a parasitic infection, see a real doctor for God's sake. These things are too serious to stuff about on the internet with. If you believe you have a recurrent or chronic infection, then I can't help you either (except maybe for some environmental hygiene). My only advice is to stick with the doctors.

Having said that, should you have any questions about the chemical nature of nematode eggs, I'll only be too happy to help.

Next, WormLearn is not supposed to be a complete course in medical parasitology, although it may prove useful to those studying this marvelous subject. There are many universities which offer excellent degree courses which have had a lot more practice at this than I have. The information is short, sweet(ish) and designed principally to be useful to school teachers who may want some revolting stories to liven up their biology lessons. I do care if I've made a foolish error, or if I'm continuing a hoa ry old scientific myth, but forgive me if make a few errors of omission.
