Blitz magazine article on Sensei Brian Cox 7th Dan, senior instructor SKIA based in Sydney.

Research : I suggest you research what is available in the Gladstone area, you’ve obviously started that if you are here. So keep it up and look around !

Visit : You really don’t know what it’s all about until you go and see for yourself. We welcome visits to the dojo, the best time to see sensei is before training.

Watch : This is where it really gets down to it. Watch a whole session (it sends a strong message if you can’t stay for a whole session—especially children) and see all the aspects of a training session.

Make sure it is what you expect an then discuss it with sensei or some of the other students. (you can get some great ideas from the lower grades—they were where you are now not too long ago !)

Sample : You need to see more than one session before you commit so try a few. Bring the page on the right for 2 free weeks*. This will give you a better idea of the training and how you will cope.

See you at the Dojo for steps 5 & 6 : Commit & Succeed.
