A Christian school with a reputation for excellence. Catering for students from Transition to Year 7.
St Andrew Lutheran School is a school that has earned a reputation across Darwin as being personal, caring Christian school, where each child is personally valued as an important member of God’s family.
We are one of nearly 100 Lutheran Schools operating in all states of Australia (currently 4 in the Northern Territory), with a total student population in excess of 22,000 children.
Aims
St Andrew aims to teach and care for each child so that all their needs are met physically, socially, academically, emotionally and spiritually. Each child is encouraged to reach their fullest potential, so that they in turn can make a valuable contribution to our society.
Involvement
Parents are encouraged to become actively involved in St Andrew. Parents are the primary educators of their children and so staff wish to work hand in hand with the home. This teamwork produces a supportive, caring environment for children.
Curriculum
Our curriculum provides challenges, creativity and variety. A broad range of activities are offered to each child, where learning is valued, excellence is encouraged and honest effort is expected and recognised according to individual abilities.
All staff are fully trained and qualified teachers. St Andrew follows the Northern Territory curriculum in all subject areas.
Classes
One important feature of St Andrew is our small class sizes in fully air-conditioned classrooms. This means that each child gets to know and be known by the teacher in a caring, supportive atmosphere.
Parents, too, benefit from this as they get to know their child’s teacher. Lasting friendships are often formed between home and school.
