In order to try and bring OzJazz some long overdue attention an online poll specifically devoted to Australian jazz was conducted by the Jazz 100 website in 2006-07. Voters were asked to choose the five best OzJazz recordings from an extensive list of albums nominated by site visitors. Over 200 people voted in the poll casting over 1000 votes. The OzJazz Top 50 combines the poll results with a statistical survey of critics and record stores. The list is updated annually to include the best of the previous year's releases.
