Christian universalist and theologian Jason Pratt finds outlet in the pages of his fantasy novel Cry of Justice.

A retributive international war has left the Coastal States devastated, with thousands of refugees fleeing to the untamed wilds of the Middlelands. Here they face a desperate physical and spiritual struggle for survival.

Fantasy and theology seem to be going hand in hand lately, with Pratt not averse to some serious dissertation along the way. His main characters are the glory-seeking mage Portunista and soul-seeking warrior with honour Seifas - with a legion of key supporting figures also in the frame.

Pratt's intricately devised world of Mikon is full of complex cultural and social dilemmas, with the monsters within far more dangerous than those we can see. His aversion to chronology and preference for multiple points-of-view make for a challenging read.
