Freight forwarders Menlo Worldwide commenced operations loading logs onto container trains at Armidale for export to China in 2004. The first loaded train departed on Wednesday, 8th September, 2004. Regrettably this project did not continue in 2005. There is now no freight running on the Northern Railway north of Tamworth. |
