Our group
covers the area from Ingham in the north to Ayr in the South, Magnetic Island to
the east and Charters Towers to the west. The major population centre is the
city of Townsville.
ABA counsellors
are available by phone on a roster basis via the Helpline 18006862686 (1800
mum 2 mum). Email counsellors can be contacted through the national website
here. Group meetings are
held in members' homes or air-conditioned public rooms, with toys and
refreshments provided. We have an extensive library of breastfeeding and
other parenting books and videos available at our meetings, or by ringing our
librarian. ABA raises money through the sale of high quality parenting aids
such as lambskins, baby slings and toys, a selection of which is available at
meetings or you may order from our catalogue. Buying from your local group
means 10% of the money stays with the group - you can use your credit card for
convenience.
