Comet Hale-Bopp finally graces the skies of the southern hemisphere. Photo was taken in the evening twilight with the sun 13 degrees below the horizon (approx), the comet 3 degrees above the horizon (approx), smoke haze and a full moon. This is one bright comet!

Photo taken between (and and probably through) thin strands of cloud. The Sun was 16 degrees below the horizon and the comet was about 3 degrees above the horizon. The head of the comet was burnt in during printing to show more detail of the comet's core.
