Each year the Queensland Astrofest hosts the Amateur Telescope Making Awards
where anything home made can be entered into one of three categories:
Best Dobsonian Mounted Telescope Best Equatorially Mounted Telescope Best Telescope Accessory
1996 ATM Award for Best Telescope Accessory awarded to Michael Horn
Best Telescope Accessory awarded for this X-Y Guide Scope Mount. This mount is used to attach Michael's
6 inch Maksutov to the main scope and allow fine adjustments to be made to easily find a guide star for taking astrophotographs.
Patrick Scharf also deserves some of the credit for this award for his help building the accessory.
