April 06 9th April I went for my supposed final check up for my collarbone. Unfortunately it was not the kind of news I wanted. The bone graft has not taken, so there is now mending of the bone. The only thing holding my collarbone together is the plate. I now have to try bone stimulation to see if we can get the bone to start healing itself or maybe try another bone graft. So after 12 months I am still unable to ride. It is unbelievable that a simple collarbone can side line me for this long after being in this sport for 26 years with very little in the way of injuries other than grazing and bruising. March 06 28th March My home town of Innisfail in Far North Queensland. Australia was devastated by a Category 5 Cyclone named Larry on the 20th March. The winds started at about 3am and the eye of the storm lasted about 40 mins from about 7am before the winds returned from the other side of the cyclone. Cyclone Larry was 100km wide. Winds gusts up to 295 to 305 kmph struck the town, if it did not destroy homes completely it ripped roofs off. More tha half of the homes in the town were damaged The vegetation and our beautiful rainforests also suffered plus the vital fruit and sugar cane industries have also suffered badly. The town was lucky in the fact that the cyclone was moving at 25kmph had it been slower it would of created even more damage. My heart goes out to all of the town and its surrounding districts effected. Also to my home club of Innisfail BMX and its members who did not escape damage either. BMXSQ have set up a RED BUTTON- Qld Cyclone fundraiser to help the three clubs being Innisfail, Atherton and Cairns to get back on their feet. Your can visit their site and check out those generous donations. http://southqld.bmxa.com.au also the BMXQ site http://www.bmxq.org.au/ They are also asking for more donations or Pro riders that can give an item to auction off on e-bay. So far they have raised over $2000 in cash donations. I would also like to thank several of the USA Pro's I approached at the weekend at the Vegas race for donations of a signed jersey to be auctioned off on E-Bay. These riders are Bubba Harris (Redline), Kyle Bennett (Free Agent), Warrick Stevenson (Haro), Randy Stumphauser (GT) and Matt Polhkamp (Kuwahara). Plus Myself and Ryan Birk (SunRingle/Redline) will also donate a jersey. I also do have a couple more Pro's who are to get back to me. I hope these gifts will make huge $$$ that will benefit these communities. I would like to share with you now some photo's of the damage to the Innisfail BMX track. Also so you can see the vast amount of damage I have put up some before photo's. The cyclone photo's came to me in a round about way and I believe they were taken by Tom Fuller from the Atherton BMX Club.

January 12th Just thought it was due time I did an update to my site. I am currently home in Australia and have been enjoying the Xmas break with family. It was a bit of a transition going from snow to searing heat. After New Year I did coaching for BMX Queensland for females. This took part over a three day period. It was fun and I enjoyed having the contact with the riders and hopefully they went home happy with the sessions. I also got a chance to see the action at the UCI round at Nerang and Centenary Plains and catch up with some of the Aussie riders. After almost 10 months of having pain and not being able to do much racing I am going in for surgery to fix my collarbone that was still mobile because it never mended. So unfortunately I will spend my 30th Birthday with stitches and in a sling. But I am hoping that after this I can get back to enjoying myself and riding again, although the recover will be a little longer than if it was a fresh break of the bone. I will be returning to the US at the end of the month.
