Alba was another independent company established by a group of Melbourne businessmen in 1933. Alba relied on imported fuel from Romania. It absorbed the Pacific Oil Company (PAX) as a result of a depressed market. Alba, which was Victorian based, had a similar history to Ampol and in 1945 the two amalgamated.
