Other Designs Here's the best piece of equipment for tuning & testing electric motors. No need for transmitters and receivers, this uses a potentiometer instead. Ideal for running in that motor or getting the most performance from your brushed motors. The PM Bench Tester handles 75Amps continuous (guaranteed) and voltages 7 to 18V and can be run from battery or regulated power supply of appropriate voltage and current. Go to the PM Bench Tester Page Price AUD $120 + postage. Availability query
Soft Steer Mk 2 is a small full true exponential steering module that plugs between the steering servo and the receiver. With buttonless programming, 8 possible exponential curves, and endpoint scaling you can get expensive radio steering from any receiver. It allows you to have the softest of steering for those minor corrections in the high speed straights, without compromising turning circle. Can also be used on any control surface that requires exponential operation. Price AUD $35 + postage. Availability query
Super Servo Driver Card Super Servo Driver is a high powered digital servo amplifier in a small package (28 x 30 x 9mm). It will run any motor in the 6 to 18 Vdc range, up to 20 Amps continuous and 30 Amps continuous with some modifications. It is user tuned using digital input, and has a 4kHz PWM high powered output and requires a voltage feedback for position. The circuit was designed for feedback by potentiometer of 500 W to 20 k W, but any 0 to 5V feed back could be used. Included is a Receiver Battery Eliminator Circuit (BEC). Std RC receiver signal is required for the base design, but any type of analogue or digital signal can be accommodated. Price AUD $160 + postage. Availability query
Projects in Progress Digi Glow Driver is a 6 or 12 V input digital PWM (switched output) glow plug driver. It is trim pot adjustable for output voltage. It comes as a circuit board intended to be included in a glow engine starter pack and would cost ~ AUD $45.
A number of times over recent years, I have had the need for a timer. Using the basic Soft Steer module, any signal in can be turned into any signal out, with 16 options. One such use was for a rocket parachute timer. By adding 1 mosfet and 2 button cells, a signal from the fuse igniter was used to fire the parachute ejection charge. The time could be adjusted in 2 second intervals from an initial 8 seconds to 40 seconds, but any time intervals could be used. Any signal could be modified to produce another signal in this module. It just requires program modification.
Got any other electronics you would like made? I will estimate a cost for design and construction. Send us an email.
