This song was originally written to support the students and parents of Richmond College in their ultimately successful campaign against the Kennett government in Victoria...but the words are easily adaptable to support any struggle.

Fighting to Win

by Peter Hicks and Geoff Francis

Fighting to win! Fighting to win!
We're in here fighting to win.
We ain't giving up
And we ain't backing down
'Cos we're in here fighting to win!

Kennett thinks he's big,
Kennett thinks he's strong,
Kennett thinks he's mean and tough,
But Kennett, we got news for you,
You ain't half as mean as us.

'Cos we're fighting to win ...

Kennett thinks we're dumb,
Kennett thinks we're dogs,
Kennett thinks we're stupid fools,
But Kennett's gonna find out just who's dumb
If he don't lay off our schools.

'Cos we're fighting to win ...

Some of us are Black,
Some of us are White,
Some of us are Asian too,
All of us together in this fight
And together we will see it through.

'Cos we're fighting to win ...

Come and join our struggle,
Every working man
Every working woman too,
'Cos if against Kennett you don't make your stand
Then he'll be coming after you.

But we're fighting to win ...

Organise, unite,
Occupy and fight,
All for one and one for all,
Take back our money from the wealthy parasites,
Put it back into our public schools.

'Cos we're fighting to win ...

Yes, we're fighting to win ...
