David Gilchrist had his beginnings in New Zealand, that island renowned for proper rugby and sheep! He "hung out" with the local vet in Trentham NZ during his holidays, and eventually snagged a scholarship to go to Qld Uni (along with 20 other Kiwis) to teach them rugby and get a vet degree in exchange!
David practiced Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in Ruatoria and Te Puke in New Zealand as the "pound-of-flesh" for his scholarship, before opening the Morningside Veterinary Clinic in Brisbane. He went on to open Vet Clinics in Kippa Ring, Kallangur, Scarborough, Mareeba and Cairns, before deciding to settle in Nambour.
He looks forward to providing a top-class service to top-class clients on the Sunshine Coast.
Franki Andrew had her early education in various outposts of the British Empire including Rhodesia, the Gilbert & Ellis Islands, and the Solomon Islands before being confined to a convent in New Zealand for her puberty years. Since 1967, whilst practising motherhood, Franki has managed and worked in Veterinary Practices in Australia, South Africa and the UK.
Franki joined David in Cairns to help in the running of both his home and his practice .
Together they chose Nambour as their new home, and have now been business and life partners since 1993.
