Our New Surgery

We are situated on 23 acres. That is the town of Nambour you can see in the distance. The pad has just been bulldozed on the right side, while in the distance our 12 cows don't seem to notice anything amiss. Their job after all is just to eat grass and be happy. Their other task of providing beef was scuttled after they were given names!

The concretors arrive to put down the concrete floor. The truck brings the reinforcing steel mesh and the bobcat is ready to start pushing things around. There seems to be a lot of instructions being given
The concrete is ready to pour
The frame-up begins.
Steel roofing is added
Steel wall sheeting is placed.
This is the operating area, showing the hydraulic stainless steel operating table in the foreground left. Behind that is the "wet-procedure" area where we do things like cleaning teeth, doing enemas, and washing and dipping animals with tick poisons.
This is the nurses station, where she sits and records the consultation or operation on the computer, and is ready at all times to assist in whatever procedure is being performed. The nurse is also involved in the preparation and labelling of medications for dispensing as required for each individual case.

This is the consulting area, showing the client's stool. We have found that most clients feel more comfortable seated during a consultation, and their pets feel more at ease with their owner nearby, always ready with a comforting or restraining hand.

We weigh all our patients regularly on the scales shown. Most clients sneak a quick and confidential weigh-in as well!
