We find drivers in outback Tibet to be the most courteous we have ever encountered. The taxi drivers in Lhasa are the other extreme. In between, they range from the drivers in Mongolia who have only recently discovered the motorcar/bike but haven't yet figured out the concept of road rules (Ulan Bataar is the only city we refuse to ride through); the bus and truck drivers of Nepal who are both stupid and impatient; the drivers of Indonesia who are just stupid; and those of Vietnam and Laos who are mostly driving bicycles anyway, are not in a hurry (unless the are showing off), and are kept as a reasonable speed by the atrocious condition of the roads.
