We strongly advise against using oil-filled front suspension, especially Marzocchi Z3 Bombers. Our Z3 Bombers began leaking oil when only 2 months old. When we returned to Australia, the seals were replaced at our cost by the Marzocchi agent Bikesportz. Two months into the next trip, the seals blew once again. Again, we were charged for their replacement. Warranty was declined. Since the forks were not subject to abuse, it is clear that there is either a design or manufacturing fault that led to failure of the seals in these Z3 Bombers. Reputable companies support their products with warranty. Companies like MSR, Pur, and Cascade (Thermarest) provide warranty backup even when product failure is due to use/abuse. Marzocchi does not offer warranty even when their product fails because of inbuilt faults. When touring, we cannot afford to use unreliable products. As consumers, we avoid manufacturers who do not back up their product. Marzocchi's good reputation is exaggerated. Be warned. Do not use them.
