| Jacob was the name of a 16th Dynasty Pharaoh who ruled Egypt around 1560 BCE. This was the Kings Hyksos or Semitic name, though the Egyptians recognised him by his throne name which was SA'KARE. (Glyphs Sun Disk Re, Door Bolt S, Wooden Column Ah-Uh, Upraised Arms K). This name could easily have been varied by Hyksos/Hebrew exiles from Egypt, who would have dropped the Egyptian God Name - Re. This variation would result in 'ISAAK'. Those who remembered in their folk lore, the 'R' god name, and added their own Moon God name 'Iah' or 'Yah', would have called him SA'KRYAH, whom we know as ZACHARIAH OR ZECHARIAH. A 'Water Ripple' glyph in the name has been translated as the letter 'N', thus making the name Sa'kaenre. However as we have found, the use of this glyph seems to be as an ideogram for water, indicating the baptismal nature of this king. Therefore it should not be taken as a letter, and the very fact that it is not in either name Zechariah or Isaac confirms that it is an ideogram. Furthermore it doesn't even appear at all in the name of Se'ekhkare (usually mistranslated as Smenkhare who was King prior to King YmnTwtAnkh.). |
