Burmese cats have earned a world wide reputation for being one of the best breeds for companionship, playfullness and intelligence. When you observe a Burmese kitten at play, you see a little of the big wild cats, a little of puppy like behaviour, a lot of the rascal, more of the clown, the stalking of a Tiger and the sookiness of an angel in disguise. They will manipulate you every opportunity they get, hide and ambush you when you least expect it, take over your bed, get a front row seat by the fire and insist on helping you complete all the household chores.
Cats are more like their wild ancestors than any other domestic pet, and for those who love the big cats of the jungle, you will see many common characteristics.
Burmese cats come in ten colours, are a shorthaired, coat like silk, cat which requires almost no maintenance whatsoever. They are very clean animals, excellent mothers (often raising kittens from another queen's litter) and have very few health problems.
Below are examples of the colours of this wonderful breed.
