Conscious Living – The healing process Our
physical world is an opportunity for us ‘to see’ who we are on the
inside. Throughout
time the mystics have been advising us that the greatest value we can have
is to ‘know thyself’. Well
we don’t need to sit on a mountain and contemplate, or attend endless
workshops, in order to do so. We
have the opportunity to ‘know ourselves’ through understanding what is
going on around us every day. No matter where we are, what job we
are in, who we are with, or how old we are. Life
is the ‘workshop’ for knowing thyself! This
column is aimed at assisting you to become conscious of ‘what is really
going on’ in your life. We
will be giving real life examples of how you can address any problem areas
you are having within your own life, be they health, relationship or work. It
may inspire you to know that you are responsible for all that is in your
life. You have the power to make new choices at any time you decide
to do so. Most
of your life is based on decisions you made before you were three. These
decisions have formed the basis for your patterns of thinking that operate
your current life. Our full passion is held in check by the patterns we formed
in early childhood. They move into the subconscious and are
sometimes difficult to find, as they are not logical to us now. ………… Kevin
was a man in his mid 30’s who was finding it difficult to have the
success he wanted in his sales position.
We discovered, that there was a feeling of discomfort and fear
present when Kevin approached customers. He was really saying, “Go away
I don’t want to meet you, I feel uncomfortable/fearful”.
Even though he was verbalizing, “Hello, how can we help you
today?” This
same fear was impacting on Kevin’s social life, and his ability to feel
comfortable in meeting new people. Although
his logical mind had decided he wanted to get close to people, his
experience as a child, kept him from doing so. Once he realized the fear
was created from a situation that was no longer valid, it was no longer
something he needed to have in his life. Leonie
is a girl who suffers from period pain.
We discovered that the pain was in fact her suppressed feelings of
anger at being a ‘woman’. When she felt into the pain, she could feel
the anger. She felt angry at being held in a role of convention, which
didn’t allow her full freedom. Leonie’s resentment at this was
released as pain. When she
realized that it was no longer relevant to feel the ‘female
suppression’ she may have experienced as a child; or ‘inherited’,
she no longer experienced the painful periods. If
you would like to have an area of your life made conscious……..please

Living
Consciously So
what is conscious Living? Conscious Living is about living honestly.
Conscious Living is about living the unlimited life of your dreams.
Conscious Living is about TRULY living. Most of us spend the greater part
of our life living unconsciously……..from the subconscious
mind…….that part of us that controls our heart beat, our food
digestion, our breathing. Now
there’s a place to start. Notice how differently we breathe when we do
it from the awareness of subconscious to that of conscious. When we
consciously breath we do so in a manner more closely aligned with the
‘correct’ or true process of breathing. And so it is with almost any
aspect of our living process. How
many of us can relate to driving from A to B ‘subconsciously’? Driving
is a fairly physical experience which requires a great deal of
concentration when we first begin. Yet even this intricate process can
become part of our ‘subconscious’ living. In fact, any process, if
repeated often enough, is easily delegated to the subconscious realm so
that we can concentrate on making other decisions or performing other
tasks. When
we see how such an intricate task as driving, which involves all of our
sensory and physical body can become a subconscious activity, we may begin
to realize just how much of our ‘living’ is done subconsciously. Our
living style is such that we have not only learned to be able to perform
many tasks at once, but for the most part we believe it necessary. Not
only can we drive from A to B, but we can also conduct phone calls whilst
we do so (or have a shave, apply lipstick, read the newspaper…depending
on the level of skill and creativity)! No wonder the driving gets
delegated to the subconscious….it is the monotonous part, the part we
have learned to control from a state of ‘unawareness’. Our children
have learned the ability to complete homework and watch television. The
amount of stimulus we are constantly surrounded with has allowed us to
adapt to the role of performing many tasks at once. The
more functions we attempt to perform at once, the less conscious we are of
each activity or each stimulus surrounding us. We have become so clever at
living unconsciously that it may take a major event such as an illness or
accident to interrupt our subconscious living long enough
for us to suddenly wonder where whole periods of time have vanished
(like the last 40 years for some of us)! We
make our choices in life based on what our beliefs are or how we feel
about things. These beliefs are inherited from those we are surrounded and
influenced by. Most of our ‘programming’ is set before age 7. For the
most part we don’t have the understanding or ability to ‘reprogram’
these beliefs and find that a belief we accepted at age 3. which really
isn’t appropriate at age 15, 20 or even 50 is still determining the
choices and decisions we are making. We are
‘programmed’ not only by our families but by all those we come in
contact with. This forms a collective consciousness which is the group
consciousness of our family, local community, nation and ultimately our
world. We are
now living in times where our awareness and understanding is having us
take a look at what programs we are each and collectively living by. It is
absolutely possible to live the life of our dreams if we are willing to
seek out the programs we are operating on. Determining what it is you
really do enjoy (not what you are doing for the benefits of someone
else’s belief system…or one that no longer serves you) Finding the
inappropriate beliefs you are operating from and ‘reprogramming your
biochemistry’ to support what belief systems you consciously require is
a skill that you can become
increasingly adapt at. Living
consciously involves becoming aware of what it is we are doing, and
therefore how we are living. We begin to challenge our subconscious
activity. Living consciously means that we are reassessing our beliefs at
every moment. “Living in the now’ involves making a choice about how
we wish to experience a particular event/place/person with the awareness of, or
attention to, how we are feeling now, rather than
automatically/subconsciously reacting based on past programming. Take
the power that is yours, has always been yours, apply it consciously, and
live the life of your dreams. We can
truly live the life we so passionately desire. Not just some of us, some
of the time, but all of us, all of the time. Somewhere, somehow, I got confused about this life of
mine. And now I see it ‘playing’ like a record on repeat. The things that I’ve ‘decided’ Often bring me to a heap. Simple things – yet powerful Effecting in my life. ‘I can’t be angry AND love someone -Both at the same time. This ‘rule’ I made – some time ago Is bringing me undone! Then something
about fairytales, and princes – another one! So many rules, I see I have - within this
mind of mine. Are they true? And do they serve? The truth I have become. As I lift the lid to see ‘What else is living there’ I recognize the many rules Of which my life’s become. Tis time to look and really see. Just what IS going on! And take the power in the NOW To CHANGE the most of them And live a life that’s based on what ‘rules’ I truly wish to run. Vulnerability
is the purest form of love. I feel we all get to experience....if only for a
little time when we are babies. We
are loved, celebrated and enjoyed for the purity of who we are. Then
the conditions of conformity begin to set in as expectations. We are
expected to talk by a certain time, walk by a certain time. All of
the judgments to conformity begin to apply. It is little wonder our
memory of unconditional love is so dim and has very little reality or
reference point in our life. The
only way you can know you are experiencing the giving or ability to
receive (one and the same) unconditional love, is if when you ask, what
expectations am I holding here, there are absolutely none.
There are sure to be some if not quite a lot. What
expectations do I hold of myself? You will become aware of what they
are, anytime you feel disappointed either with yourself or of some one
else. Any time you feel reluctance or tiredness these are
indications of control/expectation with whatever you are experiencing or
thinking about. They are good indicators. There
are no expectations that are justifiable. Love is not negotiable!
We have all created our own versions of love. That is exactly what
they are. VERSIONS of love. Not the whole absolute reality of love.
Until you reach a point of being able to surrender all that you have and
all that you are, with no questions asked, not from the perspective of
victim, but as a genuine willingness to go beyond all limits to meet
another, will you truly know the absolute of what love truly is. This
is the journey we are all undertaking, to experience what is not love in
order to know what it truly is. Jahni |
We are living in times of
incredible change. Can you sense the
anticipation and readiness for us to make new choices? New choices that will
effect the way we all experience life. New choices in business, education,
relationships and health. Have
you ever experienced so much readiness for change? We are moving into a time
where the inherent nature of man will step forth to be fully realized. All that we have thought ourselves to be, is falling away to
make space for our true nature to be expressed in all its glory –
Creative, caring and truly innovative. These are our true natures
which will no longer be repressed. Mankind is coming of age! Exciting times we are in. Are you ready?
